In the last 3 years I've written just 2 Yelp reviews. One for a neurosurgeon and one for a "Got Junk" hauling service, ha! I like to write only when I am super-impressed. And that is definitely the case with Miskarie Hair Salon. The shop is modest, but it has a free parking lot right in front, and it's easy to find on the corner of 6th and E Santa Clara Str. The business has operated there for 30 years. It's a very likeable husband-wife team that owns and runs Miskarie. I've always been taken care of by Don. He'll carefully listen to what you want done, and he is likewise happy to be helpful with questions and suggestions. Me, I needed help! Like a lot of men my age, I've got hair that is thinning in some areas and grows quickly in others. Don works with the shape of my head and makes this mismatch of thin/thick hair a great deal improved. Don also remembers what I like best about how he does this: When I return 2-3 weeks later, he's ready to jump and take care of me. Other reviewers have mentioned just how reasonable the prices are at Miskarie. Indeed, I'm always happy to leave a generous tip. I would probably feel like a bit of a bandit if I did anything less! The attention, patience, expertise, and warm smiles at Miskarie are the best I've ever found when needing to get my haircut.

Best haircut I’ve gotten in a while (long hair). She checked in a bunch of times to make sure I was happy. She took off a ton of weight like I asked and gave me a new style. Lots of compliments so far!

I was looking all over downtown San Jose the other day for hair salons they were all closed then I want to masaki I was there the other year I am glad they are still there they do a great job I got a trim was only $15 very reasonable
