What an incredible story and tribute to Stan and Lola Web, and the legacy they built at Elite Barber Shop in San Jose. It sounds like the shop was much more than a place to get a haircut--it was a cornerstone of the community, a hub where culture and camaraderie thrived. Waiting hours, even overnight, just to get a cut speaks volumes about the respect and trust people had for Stan's skill and presence. Lola's vision and Stan's artistry clearly made a lasting impact, not just through their fades but also through the space they created for connection. Thank you for sharing this heartfelt reflection--it keeps their legacy alive for those who were there and introduces it to a new generation who may not know the story. I remember leaving the club at 2:30am and going straight to Elite to wait in line. We'd be lucky to be out by 5pm. Getting your cuts at Elite in the 80's and 90's on 10th St. or Tully was a rite of passage. It all went down in the parking lot. Stan would occasionally take a lunch on me when I was next up but that forced character as a young buck. We miss those times. Love you all. B
It's true as some customers left the reviews for this place. They don't want to take any customers for haircut. I came in during business hour (2pm Tuesday.) There're 3 workers sitting down and chatting, and they told me that they don't take customers and they close for the day. It seems as they're a front for a different business
Called to ask about walk-ins, the guy said they don’t take any at all. I asked how can I book an appt and he answered “we’re booked for the week.” I asked how about next week, he said “we’re closed sorry.” And Hung up. SO DO YALL WANT BUSINESS OR NOT? Don’t seem like an elite service.Service: Haircut
