Reid's Tailoring in SF is highly regarded for their excellent craftsmanship and quick service. They have experience with various tailoring needs, including bridesmaid dresses and suit alterations. The attention to detail is noteworthy, with many customers expressing satisfaction with the results. Prices are considered fair, around $80 for dress alterations. However, there may be instances of miscommunication, as some customers have reported feeling uncertain about providing tailoring direction. Reid's operates on a cash-only basis. While they can accommodate fast turnarounds, it is recommended to provide clear instructions for the desired alterations.
This place is a mixed bag, but it is one of the few places where I can park and get errands done, and I have not necessarily found a better alternative. The people here do quality work, but they can have a seriously negative attitude about what you're asking them to do even if it is a typical tailoring task! I get the sense they do not enjoy being tailors, but they will begrudgingly go along with it if you pressure them to do so. Very weird. I miss Ed (who used to run the place years ago). He at least was friendly and seemed to really be interested in the art of tailoring. I don't need "service with a smile" and I recognize that their work is challenging, but these women seem joyless and they make me feel bad to be asking them the "favor" of tailoring my clothes in exchange for a lot of money. That said, I have had a heck of a time finding someone who has a convenient location and tailoring skills, so I will keep going here unless some of you yelpers can recommend a better place.
Reid's is the absolute best tailor in SF! I've taken over 50+ items to them over the past 2.5 years and they always do an excellent job (and many of the items I have brought are not easy fixes). Quick service as well and genuinely talented tailors. Cash only but very worth it for their craftsmanship. The attention to detail is superb. Reid's is a must go for any tailoring needs in SF!
I've taken two bridesmaid dresses to Reid's and was super happy with the results. Both times they got down to business right away and had me try on the dress and started measuring/pinning/opening seams up. Turnaround time is great (most recently I brought it in on a Monday and picked up that Thursday AM) and price feels fair (around $80 for each dress, alterations like taking in/taking out).
