Steve gives an excellent haircut—scissors only—which makes him less a barber than a sculptor of my head. Does that also make him my brain surgeon? When I walk out, I look like a million rupees. The ladies of Polk Street do a double take and can hardly resist letting their fingers tousle my hair and smell the fragrance of the product. I smell so good that there should be a cologne beamed after me .

Kelly is absolutely wonderful! I'm African American and wear my natural hair. Kelly gave me a great cut and she was in no rush, even after a couple of clients came in after me. I had made an appointment, but Kelly takes walk-ins, too.

This hair salon is modest and unassuming, with a casual vibe, and the cuts are incredible. Kelly is amazing! She has cut my daughter's hair every few months for the last couple of years and always knows exactly what to do for this teen who wants a low maintenance but cute style. She's working with a ton of very straight, very thick and long Asian hair and very little direction, but always somehow manages to do something magical. This latest visit was her college send off haircut, and wouldn't you know it, Kelly pulled another cool look out of her bag of tricks and someone is heading out of the nest very happy! Thank you so much, Kelly, she'll be visiting you when she's back in SF for vacations!
