It was so fun volunteering here at the LEJ nursery! I helped out with weeding and transplanting natives. The employees explained the Bay View district history for the context of why green spaces are so important in this industrial and residential district. It was very interesting to learn.

LEJ is providing life sustaining services and conducting life saving soil analyses to advance citizen science and define environmental toxic exposures in one of the nations most over burdened communities. I applaud them!

I came to help out here with my work for a volunteer day. It is right smack in the middle of a road and one of the Candlestick parking lots, but being there feels like a small farm. I spent 3 hours washing out pots, but it was so sunny, the staff was super helpful and kind, and I loved being there. I would recommend volunteering here for anyone, kids included. They're working on restoring wetlands in the area--very neat! Youth from the local neighborhood lead our volunteer group and they did a great job. Thank you!
