BDO USA, LLP as an accounting firm consistently hires the lowest in competent staff and delivers sub-standard audit work. Their audit work is consistently late and lacks sufficient detail, justification of findings, and often contains incorrect assumptions and errors, etc. Support staff from areas like sales/use/corporate tax are belligerent, rude and condescending to clients and complain if a client resists or pushes back. Partners rarely compel staff to work timely or hold accountable for deadlines. I gave my business to BDO for tax preparation from 2013 to 2017. The fee for 2017 was $1200.00,which was an increased fee to the prior years and I was not advised of the increase until I receive the bill. During this time I trusted them with my tax returns and paid extremely high fees compared to the competition. My agents company was bought out by BDO and I was already confident with his services. He then retired and I was referred to a new agent, Kathleen Hahn, CPA. She prepared 2017. I then received a letter on January 30, 2019, they had a "change in client focus" and would be unable to prepare my taxes or serve as my CPA. At this point I hired a new CPA,... read full review

Horrible accounting firm. Abuses employees by overworking them essentially uncompensated. This is basically wage theft. Would never recommend this accounting firm until they clean up their act. Fair working conditions should also apply to individuals who have a college degree. If you work here, you are just trying to make a partner who doesn't even care about you, richer.
