Once the meditation class started it was really good. However, there were way too many people in the class for it to be organized. On arrival I was given no direction about what to set up and where. One ‘lady’ decided too basically tell me that I would be in her way! Given the culture around meditation it would have been much nicer if she had taken the time to explain and show me what to do other than to move away from her. That was truly disappointing and a definite put off, especially as minutes later 2 people where in my original spot... that was confusing!! Owners think about numbers and explaining the set up, or have the mattresses already out so it’s obvious where space is and isnt etc.
Anchor Meditation is such a gem! I moved to San Francisco at the beginning of the year and heard about Anchor when I went to a yoga class at Grace Cathedral! I knew I needed to check this place out and am sooo sooo grateful I did! It is one of my favorite places in the city! From the moment I walked in I knew it was a special place. It is open, inviting, and very accepting of ALL levels of meditators-from the first timer to the super experienced! The first class I went to was Sand’s Journey (a MUST if you haven’t been) but all of the teachers are phenomenal. After my first class, I was hooked and told all of my friends about it! Anchor is such a blessing for SF and I’m so grateful to have found this wonderful place. It is full of peaceful vibes, friendly open people, and extremely talented teachers! The owner, Kelly, has done an incredible job in creating this space (I could create an entire review just about her! She’s the best!) Highly highly recommend Anchor Meditation!
