Chris seems like a decent guy and the bid and start time worked for me, so I accepted his bid to do my floor. We agreed he would come start the job on a Monday morning. I was up late moving stuff off the floor and out of the house, so I forgot to set my alarm Sunday night. I woke up next morning about an hour after the start time to a message from him saying he had arrived at the scheduled time, but that was it. Only one phone call and he wasn't there. Chris seems like a decent guy and the bid and start time worked for me, so I accepted his bid to do my floor. We agreed he would come start the job on a Monday morning. I was up late moving stuff off the floor and out of the house, so I forgot to set my alarm Sunday night. I woke up next morning about an hour after the start time to a message from him saying he had arrived at the scheduled time, but that was it. Only one phone call and he was nowhere to be seen. My car was parked out front so it was pretty obvious I was there. I have a very loud doorbell so it's pretty clear he didn't ring it or try the door - since the door was unlocked. He could very easily have opened it and yelled inside. I tried calling him and texting him multiple times, but he didn't pick up or respond until late the following day. He said he might be willing to do the job at some point, but not for at least two weeks and that he didn't appreciate his time being wasted. I said I understood, that wasn't my intent, but that my time was wasted too. By that point though I figured it was probably best to go any other route and anyway I couldn't wait another couple of weeks to have him maybe do it/maybe not. So, I had to try to find another contractor to do the job last minute and it ended up being a pretty big hassle. It seems like he had another bigger job that he wanted to do instead and was looking for an out. Anyway I realize the situation was partially my fault, but I think he handled it pretty unprofessionally. Take it for what it's worth, but I would probably recommend looking elsewhere.
