About Whittier Narrows Golf Course

Located 20 minutes from downtown Los Angeles, Whittier Narrows Golf Course is a 27-hole facility situated within 260 acres of Whittier Narrows Park. The course features three distinct 9-hole layouts, offering a variety of playing combinations for golfers of all levels. The 18-hole River/Pine duo boasts mature, tree-lined fairways and breathtaking views of the San Gabriel Mountains, while the 9-hole Mountain layout is ideal for a quick round. The course condition is decent, with some areas needing repair and maintenance. The greens are well-maintained, with good ball motion, and fairways are large with good lies. The course is suitable for golf improvement, with a $50 monthly membership offering a range of perks. However, some areas of the course could benefit from more attention, and the range has limitations, including no shade, long lines, and uncleaned balls. Despite this, the course is a decent option for a muni, with a pleasant practice area and chipping green, and reasonable walk-on rates.

I moved about 15 minutes from Whittier Narrows a few months ago and was looking for a new local course. Honestly, I was expecting a beat-up muni, but I was pleasantly surprised. What I found was a great practice facility, a solid Players Club membership, multiple course options (an 18-hole layout plus a 9-hole course), and overall friendly people.

The greens are in pretty nice condition. Not the most challenging but fun to putt on. The fairways can be a little hit-or-miss, with quite a few gopher holes and some rough spots. Pace of play is decent most of the time. Practice mats could use an update soon, but overall it's a decent range.

I mainly use the driving range, so I can’t really comment on the course itself. The mats and facilities are a bit outdated, but the friendly atmosphere keeps me coming back. It’s a comfortable place to practice, and the staff and regulars always make it feel welcoming.

Suggestions is need new Golf mat. Is been too old haven't been change it for long time. Golf range is make a lot of profit, so why don't make it 2 layer hitting range like monterey park or alhambra golf course. That is great business idea.
