Was in your 1986 class. Great experience. Fortunate to win ITS SD regional championship in 1987 with your instruction.
For SCCA Novices: Please do your homework and have a good understanding of the basics to be taught by Danny and his staff. I made the error of expecting to have fun and learn basics at a graduated pace. If you are a true novice at controlled road racing, like I am, don't hesitate take the time to clarify exactly HOW you are to negotiate the course(s) and what the instructors are looking for as you progress. The Why's will become obvious in time. Otherwise, you will be hit with a firehose of information and mistakes, and (possibly) stern correction; and you may regress (like I did on Day 2) relying on instinct and bad habits 😊😵👿. This is not a criticism of the staff! Through years of experience, they know exactly what we need to know and do as a competitive road racer! This is not the fun part...it is the reality of a dangerous sport! Try to stay calm, smooth and cool- headed 😗. Also, recommend that you ask for your copy of the 'Drivers Manual' with your completed Registration...lots of great clues to success in school. I plan to return in the Fall! Tom Cook Fallbrook, CA
