FireBear and his amazing crew are the best of the best! These guys made our off grid solar dreams a reality. After trying to find a company for the last 5 years that would be able to competently install a system for us, with lots of requirements way outside the cookie cutter normal, we had just about given up. Very happy with our off grid installation by Firebear/Off Grid Essentials. A fully permitted install with the county that had us (literally) flip the switch off of PG&E and on to fully independent power with batteries.
We managed to get the install done without requiring any PG&E interconnect delays or NEM agreements by using a 3-way switch ([Grid] - [Off] - [Solar+Battery]). This also kept the grid as an option for an emergency situation for the minor cost of $11/mo (minimum PG&E charge) which beats needing a full home generator that never gets turned on!

PG&E power just went out at my house for the third time this summer. I was watching tv and didn’t even notice. The lights, tv and air conditioner were all on and there wasn’t even a flicker. Thanks Firebear at Off Grid Essentials for installing my inverter, solar panels and battery. I am always up and running 24 hours a day. The installation process was quick and stress free. This system has almost eliminated my PG&E usage too. Thanks.
