I made appointments with four 5-star roofing contractors. All of them were great, but of those four, El Puma Roofing stood out. They were the first company to answer my call and had an opening the next day for an estimate. I was looking for a contractor who will do the job right with great craftsmanship. I could tell right away both Ricardo Sr. and Ricardo Jr. have a lot of knowledge and experience as I asked them for solutions to my problems. I was happy to find out that they have 20+ years experience, with Ricardo Sr. having been a foreman at his last company. Ricardo Jr. has learned to be a detailed craftsman from his dad since he was young, but he is also amazing in managing the front end of the business like answering phone calls, giving quotes, drawing up contracts, making sure everything is ordered, getting permits, giving directions to his crew, etc. as well as doing the actual reroofing work. Ricardo Jr. is a great project manager with good communication skills. What I like about them is that they have great respect for each other and make decisions together. They are equal partners. They listened and addressed EVERY concern of mine. They replaced termite infested plywood, fascia and rafters, made supports for the roof around my sunroom, cleaned and installed torch down roof for my flat sunroom roof, closed up gaps to deter rodents, birds and wasps from nesting, put in a new bathroom vent with flex tubing attached, replaced my 2 dormer vents with 4 low profile O'Hagin vents, added an O'Hagin vent in my garage, straightened the pipes, as well as help find solutions for my rusty chimney cap. They use high quality materials like t-tops with mesh and UDL 40 underlayment. El Puma Roofing has made my roof as efficient as possible in keeping pests out and our house cool. A bonus, I will be able to get a tax credit for installing Landmark Solaris Cool Roof Shingles!
I highly recommend El Puma Roofing. Over the past two months they have done three separate roofing jobs for me and each turned out fantastic. Ricardo is very responsive and keeps you in the loop as a job progresses. They are very professional and provide great quality at a good price. After interviewing four or five other roofing companies it was a very easy choice to go with El Puma. These guys are fantastic and I would highly recommend them.
This is a father/son business and i found that both Ricardo's had the highest integrity. They squeezed me into their schedule to help me out, charged me a very fair price and managed to complete the 1,680 sq foot reroof in 5 days including plan checks. They carry insurance, their licenses are up to date, and they had no problem emailing me both certificates at my request. They are super easy to work with, easy to reach, very communicative, and nice people. I plan on using them again. And the work looks great.
