I rarely write online reviews, but I felt the need to write this review. In June I had an episode where I went to visit a Chiropractor for an acid reflux issue (foolish of me) for just a consultation and the lady who was a substitute literally broke my back, in the name of just examining. I was in so much pain in my lower back, thighs and gluteal muscles that I could barely walk. My doctor suggested I go to physical therapy, after two unsuccessful attempts, I came across Shalaka's website and called her immediately. My first session, I saw relief, by 5th session I was walking pain free. She used ultrasound therapy that started healing my tightened muscles in the pelvic and gluteal area. Shalaka was patient and listened to my concerns, the main thing she pointed out was how I was still in shock and trauma from that event and discussed in great detail how I have to overcome it. She used manual therapy to ease my muscles too and that really helped me. I am glad I found her and I highly recommend her to women who have pelvic issues, issues with tailbone, gluteal muscles, as well as lower back and back issues.
I started going to Shalaka for pelvic floor therapy after giving birth. She’s been a caring, attentive therapist from the start. I like explanations and Shalaka has been able to explain the anatomy behind my symptoms. She makes an effort to keep me accountable (after all, it’s on the patient to keep doing exercises!) and has helped me see improvement.Shalaka also does wonders with the rest of the body. I’ve been dealing with neck and back issues, and she’s been helping me work through those as well. She knows what areas to target and strategically goes after those areas that need the most help.Thank you for everything!
I cannot praise my experience with Shalaka enough! After giving birth, I was dealing with weak and tight pelvic floor issues that were causing physical discomfort and stress of whether my body would ever become how it used to be. When I first started seeing her, I had minor incontinence issues to where I was always "searching" for a bathroom to make sure it was nearby when in public, painful intercourse due to post-delivery scar tissue, and the fear of returning to weight training with a weakened pelvic floor and core.Over the course of approximately 12 weeks, Shalaka worked wonders. She not only addressed my problems but also completely transformed my quality of life....read full review
