Our most sincere thanks to Pleasant Hill Orthodontics. Specifically Dr. Kan and Melissa. Our daughter Malia is 9 years old and to be blunt has a small mouth and a gag reflex. While she tries her best to just push through the expanders, and Invisalign it is a challenge. Dr. Kan and Melissa have encouraged her every step of the way. Their professionalism, skill set and patience creates an enjoyable and productive experience for Malia. Dr. Kan communicates well with Malia and speaks to her directly and with respect. She gives her just enough leeway to take breaks but also encourages her to push through to get the sometimes tedious job of removing attachments for aligners off of her teeth. Instinctively, she knows when to coddle and when to motivate. All the while working expeditiously and effectively. Melissa is cheery and professional. She too communicates easily with Malia and empowers her to be brave and adaptable, assuring her she can do all that is asked of her, from taking out and putting in aligners to learning how to put in rubber bands. In essence, our experience with Pleasant Hill Orthodontics has been as ideal as it comes. The staff and Dr. Kan exemplify the perfect combination of superior skill set presented in a warm nurturing atmosphere that will put even the most anxious patient at ease.
