Recently, the staff acknowledged and completed necessary irrigation repairs, restoring the condition of the grounds, resetting headstones, and reseeding the plots. The cemetery is known for its well-maintained grounds, although temporary disrepair can occur during ground work or irrigation repairs, as experienced during a recent visit. Past visitors appreciate the staff’s responsiveness and the care they provide. The cemetery is also notable for being the final resting place of two well-known individuals, including a TV actor and an Olympic skier. Overall, Westwood Hills Memorial Park offers a peaceful and well-cared-for environment, with attentive staff who aim to maintain the dignity and beauty of the grounds.
I choose this beautiful place because i can return back to earth as naturally as possible along with my husband. Return to soil and ash. I hope to be fertilizer for the plants above me.
Couldn't get the website to work so leaving this message here.Last Saturday (6/24/23) I visited my Mom and Dad's plots only to be disappointed by the condition of disrepair along the ground of their row.The lawn was dried up, and scraped off the plots, the head stone moved and left ajar, with a new hole dug next to the head stone.It appeared to me there could be some current ground work or irrigation work being done because other plots along the row also looked in poor shape.There were no signs to announce such work was being performed, or that the disrepair might be a temporary condition so that restoration to the sites would be completed soon.The grounds have always...read full review
Absolutely beautiful park-style cemetery in Placerville, CA. Buried here are 2 famous people. One of Television fame, Ralph Taeger, lead actor in 60s western series Hondo and other TV roles. And second is Spider Sabich, famous Olympic skier (from Kyburz - in the Tahoe area), who was murdered in Aspen, Colorado in 1976 by ex-wife of Andy Williams, Claudine Longet. While living in Aspen, his next door neighbor was John Denver.
