I felt that I needed to share my experience with my grandmother at her last appointment. The receptionist Amy was very rude and apathetic towards both me and my grandmother. They squeezed us in for a last minute appointment which we were very grateful for. When we showed up all of the lights in the lobby were turned off and I received a lecture from Amy about being charged a late fee. I had not realized when we made the appointment but they scheduled us at the time the clinic closes. We were 10min late because I had to push my grandmother up their parking lot in her wheelchair. I’ve been going to Pismo Family Practice for about 27 years. I’ve had Dr. Weiss and also different PAs. Currently Suzan is who I see. She listens to me, ask me questions and even if I’ve seen another doctor for any kind of reason will help me out. Recently, I went to a podiatrist as I had foot pain now I’m in a boot but with no pain medicine. She asked me do you have a burning sensation in your feet and I said yes so she sent a prescription in. That’s what we need more people that listen to you.

I am relieved to find a practitioner that asks questions and does more than just the minimum. After a sleep study I got a follow up call asking if I want to pursue it further. After a decade with CHC I had forgotten what care can be like. I also have had to call the office a couple of times and was shocked to have a human answer the phone and transfer me to another human who took care of my needs. I was surprised by the 100$ fee but if it allows them to be more responsive than other offices I am happy to pay it. Thank you!
