We hired Massie Roofing to tear off the old roof down to the rafters, then install plywood and a composite fiberglass shingle roof. Because of Covid-related supply chain issues, there were delays with obtaining the necessary plywood and designer shingles. Massie roofing kept us up-to-date with their progress, and did not start tearing off the old roof until all materials were available to finish the job. The tear-off only took 1 day, even with over 100 years of old roofing to tear off. A friend referred us to Massie roofing and we got other estimates too. Certainly, getting connected took some work as neither they or I am easy to get ahold of. But Eric was diligent and with detailed messages for each other, we were able to schedule a time for him to look at our roof. This process was no harder than it was with other roofers or with other contractors. I was very impressed by the detailed examination of our old roof--all its flaws, rotten wood, etc. Eric was by far, the most thorough, which gave us great confidence in his abilities and is the deciding factor for selecting him. Massie Roofers have done several jobs for our family over a couple of decades. We have always found them professional, responsive and knowledgeable. They replaced my flat garage roof and have now replaced my tile roof. After the last rain, we discovered an interior leak and Eric, the owner, had a crew out to tarp the area before the end of the day, since more rain was predicted. As soon as the storm passed, he had the crew out here to fix the roof and ensure that it would be safe in the future.
