I saw Dr DeBruin for many years and although he is quick and to the point, I always felt he and his staff genuinely cared for me and promoted my overall health. However, once I turned 50 and started to have some more complicated issues with my thyroid, his approach of back to back testing without waiting a longer period for my body to adjust led to stress and blood pressure issues. He started me on Lisinopril. When I tried to explain that I wanted to wean off the Lisinopril, he continued to tell me that my high blood pressure was genetic, but I have no one in my family with high BP. Dr. DeBruin is a 'quick and to the point', 'no nonsense' kind of doctor, but, also has a big heart and truly cares about his patients. I got severely sick with covid last May which kicked in my Lupus into high gear and was very sick for 4 months. Dr. DeBruin did all he could to help me and finally said "you need to see your Rheumatologist". My Rheumatologist had retired years ago, so he and his staff spent the afternoon calling every Rheumatologist in the Sacramento area to get me seen ASAP. He even personally made phone calls to me off and on to see how I was doing. talk about a doctor being dedicated, thoughtful, and compassionate - he all that and more. I have been going to this doctor going on 18 years,Dr D. Has been the best Dr. I've ever had he is a no nonsense no placating he has made sure that medical care at all ages are taken care of and follows up.
