Mathnasium of Monterey

Mathnasium of Monterey is a math tutoring and after-school learning center helping students in Monterey, Pacific Grove, Carmel, Marina, Seaside, and surrounding communities build strong math skills and confidence. The center works with elementary, middle school, and high school students to identify learning gaps, strengthen foundations, and prepare for future success in math. A comprehensive diagnostic assessment helps parents understand their child’s strengths, challenges, and readiness for the next level. Whether a child needs help catching up, keeping up, or getting ahead, personalized learning plans help math make sense.

Reviews describe Mathnasium as a complete game changer. One student was behind in math and felt stress and anxiety, even crying going into her first session. Now math is her favorite subject, she loves going, and she is completely caught up. The instructors are kind and make students feel welcome and comfortable. Another student bridged important skill gaps and boosted his self confidence. A student with neurodivergence who was “officially behind” attended for 3 1/2 years. With consistency, repetition, almost immediate feedback, and periodic adjustment to her learning plan, she turned an area of concern into a real area of excellence and a source of confidence. Another student’s mental math and ability to calculate quickly improved, and he has fun, enjoys being there, and looks forward to it. Mathnasium is also very active in the community, showing that they care about all the children's success on the peninsula.
