“Landscaping the backyard in our vacation home was both a very exciting and very scary process. We had a vision for what this backyard could be if it was built correctly but since we’ve not done a large project like this we did not know what to expect. I met with a few owners from small landscaping companies as well as some sales reps from so much larger ones. I knew that I had to be realistic about my budget and I did not want to sacrifice a few thousand dollars to cut corners.
After meeting with Daniel I was confident that he was going to be able to bring my vision to life. We started by reviewing the HOA requirements, selecting plants, and discussed space planning. From there Daniel Created a 3-D video where I got a true vision of what the backyard would look like upon completion of this project. Unfortunately it did not feel right. Everything I asked for was in the design but the placement did not work. I became worried about budget but it would be nearly impossible for Daniel to quote the job until we had a better understanding of how everything would be laid out. After two or three more revisions not only did we have an outstanding design but the process also taught us how to work with one another. On paper and as a video everything looked great.
The design was immediately approved by the HOA board and Daniel’s team started the work about a week later. Since we are not there regularly he would send me pictures, drone videos, and text messages to give me updates on how the project was progressing. The original estimate was to have this job in 8 weeks but it took closer to 13. As we got closer to the end we knew it was important not to rush the work because everything was looking so good and we were confident that we would have everything that we wanted.
In my opinion Landscape designers and architects can only be successful with open communication and a clear vision. I think Daniel is an excellent listener, he has wonderful taste, and knows high end touches that will make a backyard look its best. Obviously he also has a great understanding of which plants grow well in Monterey county. I would highly recommend him and to anyone willing to invest in their property and be patient with the process. I’m very happy that we hired Daniel’s Landscaping Service and hope that the pictures attached will showcase the work that his team did at our property.”
