About Mission Hospital Same Day Care
Mission Hospital's Same Day Care Unit offers a variety of outpatient services, such as diagnoses, treatments, consultations, and rehabilitation for orthopedic and ENT surgeries, GI endoscopies, vascular and colorectal procedures. The check-in and parking processes have received high praise, both rated at 5. The hospital has been serving the community for over two decades, having undergone several ownership changes. Overall, it has been rated as a 4 on a scale of 1-5. However, the emergency room can get extremely busy, with long wait times due to the increased demand for healthcare services. Despite the overwhelming workload, the nurses and doctors are commended for their outstanding efforts in providing medical services. In particular, the CHOC section of the hospital received recognition for the care provided to a six-year-old boy who suffered a head injury. The medical team was praised for their expertise, kindness, and patience, which helped the child feel more comfortable during the treatment process. The family expressed their gratitude and stated their intention to continue using the hospital's services for their future medical needs.
Having lived in the area for well over 20 years we have had to use this hospital/healthcare building through a few ownership changes. We have gone here for broken bones, stitches, cancer, check ups.. you name it.. It is pretty good these days and like all hospitals it has good things and some not so good things. Overall it is a 4 on a scale of 1-5 at least for us. Check in is a 5... Parking is also a 5...
Came into the ER here on July 5, 2024 at 3pm ... Wow! What can I say. The ER was just packed with every seat taken. Some people were even waiting outside. Nurses were scrambling to check people in, take vitals, check insurance coverage and sort out all the injuries. Just a super busy ER. All signs are now in a few foreign languages as we now have an additional 700,000 people who are now getting free healthcare in California. Everyday is just like this. Nurses and doctors are simply overwhelmed. They are doing an outstanding job trying to keep up with all the medical services that need to be provided. Patience will go a long way to make your visit more pleasant.
Our six year old son suffered a head injury when playing with friends. We took him to the Mission Hospital ER where he was immediately triaged and reviewed carefully and quickly. They admitted him into the CHOC section of the hospital to receive some stitches after the wound was triaged. Our son was very scared of this, but the team was both kind and patient with him, helping him with extra patience while they worked quickly and effectively to stitch his wound. He left in great shape and we were all very thankful for the team's expertise and their empathy. We will continue to use Providence Mission Hospital and CHOC to care for our family in future situations -- the staff here is wonderful!
