Art of Jiu Jitsu is more than a typical jiu-jitsu school; it is a true team and an awesome gym with a great atmosphere. The instructors are extremely knowledgeable, and the level of training is top notch. The professors and coaches are on a very high level, with a warm and supportive way of helping students. They are patient and gentle, always making kids and adults feel comfortable and encouraging them to try new things using different games or rotations of drills. The classes are extremely welcoming, and it is very easy to make friends. It feels like a family, and the professors deeply care about everyone getting better. The coaches explain everything very clearly, making it easy to follow as a beginner, and they are attentive, correcting techniques and showing how to do everything properly. The community is welcoming, and the coaching is on another level. There are 6am classes every weekday. Students see growth in confidence, focus, and coordination thanks to the guidance. It is a great experience, and people will definitely be back.
My daughter was reluctant and would cry each time we tried to get her to go to class. Professor Luca and Coach Irie has a warm and supportive way of helping her get on the mats and actually participate in class. With their patience and gentle teaching style, she has made it to 4 months of training at AOJ Mission Viejo. They are always making her and the other kids feel comfortable and encourage them to try new things using different games or rotation of drills. AOJ is more than a typical jiu-jitsu school, it’s a true team. I’ve been a member since the Mission Viejo academy opened and the experience has been exceptional. You receive world-class instruction from top-tier coaches while being surrounded by professionalism and a crew of teammates genuinely invested in your safety and growth. AOJ has provided the camaraderie I’ve been missing since leaving the Marine Corps.
tried the women’s class for the first time and loved it. It was my very first experience with jiu-jitsu, and Coach Luca explained everything very clearly, which made it easy to follow as a beginner.
I enjoyed it so much that I stayed for a second No-Gi training session for legs with Coach Marcos. Both coaches were very attentive, correcting techniques and showing how to do everything properly.
I really liked how jiu-jitsu makes your mind and body work together. Such a great experience - I’ll definitely be back.
