I was so upset today after going to Park Victoria Dental. The dentist is one of the best that I ever had. However, the receptionist is not good at all. She forgot to ask me to put on the x-rays apron after taking 5 x-rays. It was me who asked her whether I need to put on the x-rays apron after taking 5 x-rays and realized that my jacket's metal button blocked the x-rays. I was really upset because I took 5 x-rays without wearing the apron to block the x-ray. To make me even more angry was that she told the dentist I made her nervous so that she forgot to ask me to wear the apron. I did not have any conversation with her before taking the x-ray except commenting that I don't like taking x-rays because of the radiation. So, please don't play this blaming game. If you forgot to ask the patient to wear the apron, you just admitted it. Also, making appointment was a mess. Due to my covid and my trip in Nov, I texted them on Oct 10 to postpone my deep clean appointment to 12/28. Last week, they called me to have my deep clean appointment scheduled to 12/20 because they do not open on 12/28. It was strange that they accepted my appointment on 12/28 at the beginning even though that dentist does not work on 12/28 and no one called to cancel it. Anyway, to make the long story short. I ended up doing the regular cleaning because the deep clean fell into the regular cleaning time frame. Finally, I felt that the dentist defensed of her staff, blamed me of postponing my deep clean appointment and not taking enough x-rays regularly. So, I decided not to go there anymore even though she is very thorough in her work. Updated: After I did some research, I really concern about exposing to x-rays especially because I have hyperthyroidism. The following is a quote from the link below: Certain physical issues, like thyroid problems, are exacerbated by any exposure to radiation.

Simply the best dental office in the Bay Area. My previous dentist or rather her staff took about 20 minutes to clean my teeth and I thought that was normal until I found Dr. Chann and Dr. Lam. Not only are they both thorough but extremely thoughtful in my family's dental care and plans. I highly recommend Park Victoria Dental as their professionalism is only exceeded by their kindness. Dr. Chann, Dr. Lam and staff are wonderful. An added bonus is, Kimmy makes an awesome cup of joe.

My comprehension on the term, "Floss the teeth that you want to keep" has been engraved in my mind for years. I admit that I was not always good at taking care of my teeth. My life changed 17 years ago when I started going to Park Victoria. Both Dr. Chann and Dr. Lam have been encouraging through the years. Quickly, my fear and anxiety dissipated and I looked forward to every visit. The next steps to improving my bite and smile was through ortho care. I had requested a referral from Dr. Chann and Dr. Lam four years ago to go see Dr. Woo from Lee and Woo Orthodontics but I chickened out, fearing for the worst ( the length of time and pain associated with the whole treatment). Prior to that time I did receive consultations from a few different doctors at various locations and I just couldn't do it. Finally, two years ago I made a new request and went for it. From the moment I met Dr. Woo and his team, I knew it was time to face my fear straight ahead. It didn't take long to realize that my decision was the right one. During my ortho treatment I was required to have two teeth pulled. Dr. Lam helped me get through that fear I had. He was able to pull out two teeth that was necessary with great precision and care. I am now six months free from wearing braces. I have a beautiful smile and an improved bite. Yep! Good oral hygiene practice will promote a healthy and happy smile and I am proof of that.
