Janet (Mrs. Rose) is a wonderful teacher! My son who was a 1st grader had been struggling to write for the whole year in kindergarten. He was so proud of himself after the first class, the other day when he was his writing class, he was able to write independently for 3 pages! That's the amount which took him more than a week before.Because we were doing online class, I was sitting next to him. I saw how Mrs. Rose is good at engaging with him by reading him a good book first and used it to bring him to think how to write for his own. My daughter's writing has fully blossomed with Janet.I became concerned when I noticed my daughter writing the same simple stories, year after year, in elementary school. As a volunteer, I could see that the school was teaching students about how to write more descriptively and creatively. For some reason, it wasn't getting through to my daughter. It wasn't until she worked one-on-one with Janet that she had a breakthrough. My daughter was so proud to show us her "before and after" story: her simple retelling of an event was transformed into an expressive and engaging tale.
