I have been to Dr.Zell several times. I have found his practice and staff to be very thorough, gentle and best of all consistent. From cleanings, fillings and crowns I have not been disappointed.

The one review prior to mine was about the office staff and pricing at Los Alamitos Dental Care, not about Dr. Zell. Since this Yelp entry has his name in it, it's only fair to rate his work. I found the staff fine. I pay for dental insurance, so pricing was within insurance coverage. The hygienist did a thorough job of cleaning my teeth. Dr. Zell was professional and courteous. Did a thorough exam. I'm a new patient.

Staff is rude. Prices have been increasing at dramatic rates last few years. My family of three was (we have switched dentist already) going to Dr. Zell for ~10 years. My daughter drove in from San Diego, was 15 minutes late due to car accident on the freeway, dentist canceled her appt, would not see her. But when I went to my appointment the other day the hygienist was 16 minutes late but I cannot cancel on the dentist! Staff is not flexible and w/ Zell's recent $20 increase in pricing we have taken our family of 3's business else where.
