About Los Alamitos Medical Plaza
Los Alamitos Medical Plaza, previously Memorial Care, provides quick and attentive medical care. Patients have reported prompt service, with no waiting times. The staff is described as wonderful, amazing, and very concerned with patients' well-being. They take extra precautions, particularly with children, and spend time explaining conditions and treatments. Doctors have been known to follow up with patients over the weekend. However, some patients have expressed concern over the transition from Memorial Care to Carbon and the lack of communication about the change. Despite this, the location and the potential for quality care remain promising.
Save yourself the trouble and do not go to this urgent care. Their billing charges are outrageous! I've never been billed this much for an urgent care. The PA did not even try to take a look at my child. I had to ask her to look at her eye and tell me if it looks like an infection. Either way simple eye infection with a rx and they charged my insurance $575 for a "45-minute exam," when it was less than 15mins. I tried reaching out to billing and also called the clinic to please explain the billing code submitted to my insurance and no one ever got back to me even after following up.
My nephew received shockingly substandard medical care at Carbon Health during an urgent care visit. I'll add details soon, when I have time, but I hope in the meantime that this discourages at least one person from going there.
Would not recommend at all. They offer appointments online but it is not really an appointment. You will still have to wait the long wait until everyone is seen as any other urgent care. People seemed upset as they figured this out in the waiting room after waiting hours. They do not take all insurance. I have PPO and had to pay $200. Very pushy on testing for stuff. In fact I went in to have my son tested for flu and they took it upon themselves to test for Covid. Just comes off unprofessional. I will never return again. Would never recommend to anyone.
