Reviews for Long Beach Animal Hospital

Write a review
  • The Long Beach Animal Hospital has been providing compassionate veterinary care for many years. The hospital is open late and has a nurse on-site to care for sick pets at night. The hospital is well-regarded for its compassionate care during difficult times, such as end-of-life situations. While some patients have expressed concerns about the high cost of services and the experience of newer veterinarians, the hospital is still praised by many for its kind doctors, staff, and their ability to maintain the best attitudes even when busy. The hospital also has a wildlife program, and has been highly recommended by other veterinary clinics in the area. One customer shared their experience of bringing in a distressed slider turtle with a fishing hook stuck in its tongue, and the hospital provided excellent care, including x-rays, a procedure to remove the hook, and rehabilitation before releasing the turtle back to its habitat. Another customer praised Dr. Ridgeway and the team for their exceptional care of their 16-year-old Shih Tzu, Pumpkin, who had suffered a spinal injury and partial paralysis. The customer was initially told by an emergency vet that the only options were expensive surgery or euthanasia. However, at the Long Beach Animal Hospital, Dr. Ridgeway provided steroids and chiropractic treatment, and Pumpkin was walking again the same day, with continued improvement in the following week.
