Driving Schools in Long Beach

“I took the course on 6/23/26–6/24/26 (starting at 8:00 AM first day), and I wanted to share what you can expect.

The first day begins in a classroom inside the BMW motorcycle dealership. The facility is clean, comfortable, air-conditioned, and surrounded by motorcycles. They even have complimentary popcorn and coffee, which was a nice touch.

Our classroom instructor was excellent because he was both knowledgeable and engaging. He shared real-world stories that made the lessons memorable. Such as how a rock got kicked up and hit him in the shin while riding one day. Or how you can get stuck somewhere if you have a tinted visor at night and now can’t see. I hadn’t been in a classroom since college, and it was genuinely enjoyable to be learning in that environment again.

The riding portion moves at a fast pace because there’s a lot to cover in a short amount of time. While you don’t get as much time to know the instructors personally, both of mine worked incredibly well together. Their communication, professionalism, and natural banter made the course both efficient and enjoyable. I could feel their passion for riding and it made me excited to show up again the next day.

I highly recommend bringing your own lunch. The course provides cold water throughout the day, but breaks are short, and there isn’t much time to leave for food. It does get hot during the riding exercises, but honestly, that’s part of the experience. Riding in warm weather is something you’ll encounter on the road, so it helps prepare you for real-world conditions.

One classmate dropped his bike twice during training. The instructors stayed calm, encouraged him to shake it off, and simply had him reschedule to try again another day. I appreciated how supportive they were. Personally, I found the bikes forgiving to ride, and as long as you stay focused and follow instructions, dropping the bike isn’t something I’d worry too much about.

The course goes beyond teaching basic motorcycle controls. It teaches you how to recognize common hazards, understand the risks riders face every day, and develop habits that make riding safer. You’re not just learning how to operate a motorcycle. You’re learning how to stay alive on one.

By the end of the course, I felt much more confident riding while also realizing how much there is still to learn. I’ll definitely carry these lessons with me when I buy my first motorcycle. Watching an entire class go from having little or no riding experience to confidently completing the exercises by the second day was honestly impressive.

“This is a hole in the wall place. My daughter already knew the basics to driving, and they were able to give great pointers, and train her for the behind the wheel exam. The owner was very accommodating with scheduling her behind the wheel lessons right away, since my daughters permit was about to expire. My daughter really her driving instructor. This place was the most Affordable training I found. The owner is an older Hispanic man. He was extremely nice and helpful. He gave great suggestions regarding getting an earlier appointment for behind the wheel test at the DMV.“
