About City Tow Service
City Tow Service has been providing reliable towing and recovery services to the greater Long Beach area since 1961. Located just blocks from the 710 Freeway and Anaheim Street, the company operates a fleet of state-of-the-art tow trucks, staffed by well-trained and certified drivers who are licensed by the local authorities. Customers have praised the exceptional service and compassion shown by the City Tow Service team. One reviewer recounts a harrowing experience of being stranded on the freeway, with a damaged tire. Fortunately, the driver, Brian Rosales, arrived promptly and went above and beyond, towing the car all the way to Los Angeles instead of the nearest location, and even giving the customer a ride home. The reviewer was deeply grateful for Brian's kindness and empathy, which helped restore their faith in humanity during a stressful situation. Another long-term customer, with over 40 years of experience in the towing industry, was pleasantly surprised by the genuine personal care and courtesy shown by City Tow Service, which is often lacking in the routine towing experience. However, not all experiences have been positive. One reviewer shared their struggles with financial hardship, unable to afford parking tickets or vehicle registration, leading to their car being towed away. This left them in a dire situation, sleeping on the streets and facing health challenges during the winter months. Overall, City Tow Service has earned a reputation for providing reliable, professional, and compassionate towing services to the Long Beach community, with many customers praising the exceptional efforts of the staff to go the extra mile and support those in need.
For the actual tow service I requested - 4 stars. But lacks ethics as they preferred making money over honesty just to help a family out. After a long day on a road trip with my kids, I got error messages and then my battery died. Per insurance I needed a tow, they booked it but wait was 90 mins for 400...time to change my plan. By 10pm I got Mario referred by another local tow company, I mentioned my issues and needing a tow 35mi away LB to Burbank and he needed 450 upfront. He quickly arrived, upon my request he tried to drop my car at a dealer after hours w/ no key drop off, then brought to my home. I had to take an uber with the kids. I asked him if he could get it off the bed into my apartment garage in the entryway. He said he'd jump the car, without any concern. It turned on (no error messages) and he said I could drive it in to the parking garage from there. I was able to drive and wait in my garage with my car running. SO why didn't he offer to jump it before the tow?!? If he was really thoughtful of our situation, it would have been a honest offer to help us get home. But he wouldn't have 450. And my lesson learned...I shouldn't expect anything more from a tow company.
Two nights ago, I found myself and my passenger stranded on the Long Beach Freeway. There was an accident earlier and all of the pieces from the accident had not been removed from the freeway. I could see the flares had burned down to low flames. I was watching and I still don’t know where the piece came from that obliterated my tire in less than three seconds.Mountains are not flat and neither is life. We have our ups and we have our downs. We have our negative experiences and we have our positive experiences. I want to talk about the positive experiences that were created out of a daunting experience.I am immensely grateful that my passenger was patient, calm, and...read full review
