    dr. Johnson did a great job. I am happy to be rid of the pain without taking painkillers or epidural shots. His assistant was awesome and was able to do all the follow ups on behalf of Dr. Johnson because the good doctor is performing a lot of surgeries. I would recommend him and his group to anybody. In fact, I have my brother in-law going there.

    I appreciate a doctor that not only takes the time to actually listen to me but also takes conservative measures to fix the problems. I have always recommended a second opinion, to someone that really listens and this is Dr Johnson.

    I saw Dr. Johnson twice for lower back pain and was very pleased with both his evaluation and bedside manners. His diagnosis and options for treatment helped me understand clearly my condition and move forward. I would recommend this doctor to anyone dealing with specific back issues.

Dr. Johnson is from Minneapolis and completed his undergraduate studies at University of California, San Diego's Revelle College (UCSD) in chemistry and biochemistry. His medical school education was at the University of Pittsburgh, graduating as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. His internship and residency were both at McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University, Feinberg School of Medicine. He fellowship trained with Steven R. Garfin, MD, at the Dept. of Orthopedic Surgery, UCSD. While in fellowship, he trained with both orthopedic and neurosurgeons and integrates both aspects into his operative care. Dr. Johnson specializes in all aspects spinal surgery. He has a special interest in minimally invasive spine surgery.
