About PGA WEST Pete Dye Mountain Course
The PGA WEST Pete Dye Mountain Course, nestled at the base of the Santa Rosa Mountains, is renowned for its stunning visuals and challenging design by renowned golf course architect Pete Dye. The course features unique elements like pot bunkers, rock formations, and elevated tee boxes, creating a thrilling experience for golfers. Reviewers praise the beautiful course and friendly staff, highlighting the helpful employees who enhance the overall visit. While some areas have been affected by flood damage, impacting the driving range and select fairways, the course's overall experience remains positive. Golfers are encouraged to visit on favorable weather days to fully immerse themselves in the course's beauty and playability. The course's greens, approximately 10 months old, have received positive feedback, with reviewers noting their excellent condition. Fairways have also been praised for their good to great shape, despite the recent flood the course endured. The stunning mountain views and friendly staff have been cited as highlights, more than compensating for any recovery mode issues. Golfers are advised to play from a tee box suited to their skill level, as this can help them hit and hold more greens. The course's proximity to the mountains can impact air movement, particularly on hot days, but staying hydrated and embracing the beautiful surroundings can enhance the overall experience.
