My kids and I have been getting our hair cuts from stylist May for the last 10 years! She is also fluent in Taiwanese if your family members do not speak English. Super nice and fast!
Basic haircut, and they tend to cut my hair based on what they think looks good, vs. what I ask for - so I have to make sure I say less than what I want, because it always ends up more than I wanted. At least they're usually on time from scheduled appointment, and you can get in/out relatively fast. Bring cash though, or they charge a bit more.
Sea Wave is a traditional Asian hair salon. They give you five to ten minute hair washing and full service, not like an American establishment. It is all about the hair stylist you get. If you get the right one, it's a great place for you. I have been coming to Jenny for many years, and she does a great job. I have blond hair, which stands out in a sea of black haired people. What makes Jenny special is her attention to details. She trims my eyebrows, and any loose hair. They have many English speaking stylist who go there, so do not worry about it if you only speak English. At one point, they hired a full time hair washer, but now each hair stylist must wash their client's hair. Jenny is really special. We love her. The place is very cramped. The building was divided up for a section that does massages. Ugh. The employees work really hard under the scrutiny of the owner. It's not like the traditional American Hair Salon, where the stylist are independent and rent the space. There is a definite boss/employee feeling in the place. It's too bad because I see stylist as artists, who need freedom. This more like a factory. Jenny is the best. She does really good work.
