I had chronic hip pain for 3 years. Orthopedic surgeon wanted to do a hip replacement. PT, acupuncture and chiropractor didn't help. Dr Hewitt is a Genius! He put in a stent and like magic, I have been pain free for a year. He is smart, charismatic and a Godsend.
the most incompetent staff of so called medical professionals I've ever dealt with. started out fine, but then trying to make a procedure appointment became a nightmare .the dr said schedule it, and the office staff said we'll call you. after more than a week and calling in 3 times, they finally scheduled me the day before, they called to confirm, and when I got there, they prepped me ready to go, when the dr came in and asked about being off blood thinners for 2 days prior. I said no, no one had called me, so we were both aggravated and he told the staff to get me in ASAP, they scheduled me for the following friday morn at 7:30. the day before I was in phx and drove back for the appt. where I was told I was not on the schedule and the dr doesn't do those on friday. I had about had it with them at that point and couldn't even speak with anyone until 8. I expressed my disgust with them and finally emailed the dr. about a week later they set up an appt, and the day before, cancelled due to drs. wife giving birth, so another 2 weeks and finally got in. procedure went fine I guess, and a second procedure was needed and not scheduled. finally it's almost the end of august and I get a call from the staff to schedule my other leg. not 5 minutes after, I tried 6 times to call back, each time going to voice mail. finally got thru and the staff member was supposedly with a patient. I left word for him to call me back ASAP since the appt time would run into another appt I had. no call back and for 3 more days, never heard a word. I didn't show, and didn't even receive a call the following day I was scheduled for my follow up for right leg. we finished that procedure and then I was told it was the drs. last day at that office talk about a clusterfuck and without a doubt the worst run medical practice I've ever had to deal with in my 70 years on this planet kudos to the dr. but pedes is the last place I'd ever go for vein/ blood clot procedures
I had an emergency appointment with Dr. John Joseph Hewitt, MD at Pedes Orange County, and I cannot speak highly enough of the exceptional care I received. From the moment I called to schedule the appointment, their front desk personnel, including Michelle, worked diligently to accommodate me within an hour. Upon arriving at the clinic, I was impressed by now efficiently they handled my paperwork, and I was immediately taken in for an ultrasound.The ultrasound technician, who was incredibly detail-oriented, spent around 30 minutes meticulously recording specific measurements.
