La Brea Nail Shop is a long-standing business offering friendly and good customer service. The staff is very nice and provides great, basic services at ridiculous low prices, including manicures, pedicures, and fills. The place is quiet with comfortable massage chairs and uses bags for pedicures. While the selection of gel and regular colors is slim and they do not do designs, the work is up to grade and gel lasts a long time without being lumpy. It is a reliable spot for quality, no-fuss nails and feet care.
I got a simple french tip manicure, service was okay however they overcharge and the prices are not accurately reflected which does come off as dishonest. I was told over the phone pedicures are 24, I wanted a simple french tip and they added 6 extra dollars before alerting me, and when I had first come in I confirmed that the price would be 24 dollars before it being changed to 30 when it came time to pay. Which was not accurately reflected on the service menu.
I walked in without an appointment since I was in the area around 3pm during the week. I asked if they could see me for a Gel Pedicure and they said it would be 10mins. Sure enough I was out in less than an hour. I skip the massage btw. The staff is friendly and the place is quiet. I like that they have comfortable massage chairs and they use bags for the pedi. Sam was wonderful!
This was my first time frequenting an nail salon since the pandemic. With the new sanitize guidelines, it would be fair to say the owner went above and beyond to sanitize everything and implemented many new procedures. EVERYTHING WAS SANITARY! I felt less stressed going to the nail salon than I do going to Whole Foods or any retailer! Will definitely be coming back to this location.
