Very welcoming space with tons of tools, materials and machines (3D printing, woodworking, soldering, biolab, metalworking, laser cutter, sewing machines...). It's a Maker's dream space!

Really unique and creative opportunity for anyone interested in woodworking, electronics, 3D printing, machine shop skills, or in just making and inventing things. Amazing collaboration of scientists, artists, engineers, and just regular folks who want to learn new skills. Not particularly advertised but largely grows by word-of-mouth. This place is a real “gem” for members if the Santa Barbara-Goleta community who find it.

Really cool place! I just went for a tour today and I was very impressed. The base student membership is $20.00 a month. For that you get access to multiple PLA 3D printers, an SLA printer, multiple laser cutting CNC machines, a water jet CNC machine, and two types of welders. There is far too much other equipment to list (drills, saws, soldering irons etc.) but if there is a tool you need they probably have it here. You also get access to some materials to use for projects as well as many knowledgeable people if you need help with something.

Santa Barbara Hackerspace is a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing access to tools for wood working, metal working, electronics, bio/chem, 3d printing, and the space to use the tools to the Santa Barbara community. We offer memberships to access the shop during the week and help fund our mission.
