This is the layover hotel for Amtrak engineers and Conductors and other personnel. 7 hours rest and heading back to LA from Goleta the next day.Food is expensive and we are not rich and we bring our own food and beverages.
Cool looking place, great price. Very friendly staff. Looks like a renovated hotel, nice and clean. Restaurant was awesome.Only drawback is it's about 15 minutes away from downtown Santa Barbara. But $50-100 cheaper! (I didn't consider inns, motels or hostels, because gf haha.)They charge a resort fee, which wasn't mentioned when I booked. $21/day, but you get a $10 dining credit for each day plus some other perks in return. We ate at the restaurant once and stayed 2 nights and got $20 off our food.
Hotel was located approximately 15 minute drive away from downtown Santa Barbara. It looked like it was originally built as a motel then got renovated as it was an exterior corridor hotel. I had a room with a view of the parking lot. I think the nicer rooms were facing the pool area. I could hear clearly from the room next door. The staff was friendly and pretty flexible with outlet seatings. Food presentation was nice and colorful.
