Late on December 23, 2023 we noticed that our Master Bathroom shower had started backing up. Resolving to call a plumber first thing the next day, we went to bed and woke up at 4:00 AM on Christmas Eve with water pouring out of the shower as our water softener had started regenerating during the night. A category 3 (Black Water) flood enveloped our Master Bathroom, Master Bedroom, spread into the hall, down the hall into the living room, and other areas.
