Had my first visit to Susan Shao Acupuncture in Fountain Valley yesterday. The patient experience was excellent and the diagnosis and treatment were very effective. Acupuncturist Shao was thorough and patiently listened to my concerns regarding acute chronic pain. Much of her diagnosis was same/similar as my Primary Care and neurosurgeons. She did not over-promise, telling me not to expect total pain relief because of permanent nerve damage from surgery. However, she is confident her treatments would reduce stress my pain and hopefully prevent increased pain. "Doctor" Shao has treated me for various muscular and neurological problems at various times over the past 15 years. I can't imagine that any acupuncturist is better. She has cured a locked shoulder, back pain, and another issue or two. What makes my review glowing is that Susan is a brilliant diagnostician. She knows what acupuncture can help with and when I need to see an orthopedist or other specialist. She has never treated me just to make money. I recommended her to a friend with a debilitating back pain (that should be good for several treatments), but Susan determined that her pain was stress related and massaged the area and explained how to relieve her stress....read full review

I have been coming to Susan for many years any time I injure myself or experience any abnormal pain or discomfort. I recently sprained my ankle very badly playing basketball and getting treatment from Susan has really accelerated the healing process. Highly recommend anyone who is experiencing pain or discomfort to pay her a visit.
