I’ve been wanting to go to this facility ever since I moved here, finally my insurance allows Hoag so I went ahead and booked with the doctor there. Somehow my original appointment got scheduled with an endocrinologist; Im a male and was going in for establishing care. They called me, I let them know there was some sort of mistake as im just needing a general doctor for routine care and establishing care initially.
They changed my doctor to a doctor who is accepting patients and I met with Dr. B Yee today.
Now let me say, I usually hate going to the doctor but Dr. Yee made me feel comfortable to open up about the small issues that usually I might forget about...read full review
I went to see Dr. Ranade for a new patient visit, hoping to finally find a primary care physician. Just 30 minutes before my appointment, I managed to cut my left thumb pretty deep. I figured, no big deal--I'm about to see a doctor who can patch me up, right? Well, when Dr. Ranade took a look at my thumb, it became clear she might be a bit green. Her first words were, "Do you think this needs stitches?" and "I'm not sure if you need stitches or not." As the patient, hearing this was less reassuring and more unsettling. I expected a little more certainty from my physician. To top it off, she proceeded to Google "finger lacerations" right in front of me. To conclude my visit, she gave me nothing more than a band-aid. The next morning, my thumb ballooned up to almost twice its normal size and was completely numb. In a panic, I rushed to urgent care where a nurse practitioner took one look and immediately said my thumb should have been stitched up. To make matters worse, Dr. Ranade hadn't even given me a tetanus shot, despite my cut being from a knife. The 24-hour window for stitching had passed, so the nurse could only patch me up and administer the tetanus booster. I believe I may have some nerve damage due to the lack of immediate care (as well as the depth of the wound). Long story short: I got better care from the nurse practitioner than I did from Dr. Ranade. She seems like a nice person, but I wouldn't go back or recommend her as a primary care physician. Side note: I didn't attach a photo of my thumb because it is very graphic
Excellent urgent care service. I have blood work done, I was place in waiting list because I did not have appt and took less than 15 min to be called in. Also checked in for ear problems and took less than 15 min to see the doctor who recommended a procedure that was done by an excellent nurse in few minutes and her care was super professional and kind. I always get the best service at Hoag in Foothill Ranch. Would recommend them for a professional and fast Urgent care and Lab work as well as any other needs. Thank you for serving our Lake Forest area with such professionalism and empathy!!!
