About King's Barber Shop
King's Barber Shop is known for providing great and amazing haircuts in a good environment. Customers report always having a good experience with friendly and respectful people. The service is described as awesome, with barbers who are very sweet, offer suggestions, and maintain a good conversation. Many highlight a specific barber who works fast and does great work, with others noting the barbers do great work as well. The shop itself looks very nice with luxurious chairs. However, there are consistent concerns about the price. Reviews note that haircuts, including fades and kids' cuts, now cost $35, $40, or even $45, which some feel is not reasonable or is a lot to pay. With a tip, a child's haircut can approach $50. Parking is also reported to be very hard to find and not very safe, involving a shared alley. Despite the cost and parking, the shop is highly recommended by many for its reliable, quality service, especially as a convenient option for those with busy schedules. It is praised for accommodating last-minute appointments and providing a trustworthy, great haircut.
Well, we've been here a few times and the ladies do a pretty decent job, nothing out of the ordinary. The prices "were" reasonable about $25 for haircuts. Then they started charging $30, then $35! In my opinion, it's a lot for a kids haircut honestly. You end up paying almost $50 per child once you add the tip. Also, the parking sucks, very hard to find parking. If you end up parking in the back, you go to an alley that's shared with another business so you basically have to come back out in reverse to Paramount Boulevard, not very safe. Will we return? Maybe as a last-minute resort.
It's Valentines Day and as you know barber shops are either fully booked or unavailable. I decided to call 7 different barber shops and out of all 7, only one answered right away and was very friendly. That was Kings Barber Shop! It's extremely hard to find someone in such short notice who can not only cut your hair, but to trust that they'll give you a great haircut...Upon arrival, the place looks very nice with luxurious chairs. There was a barber there who right away acknowledged me and said she'll be with me shortly. It was 6pm and it didn't seem so busy (which is super convenient for people who have a 9am-5pm job)! Sarah attended me and was very sweet from the beginning, she asked what I wanted and gave me several suggestions for the look. It's RARE when a good barber asks you if you want a double zero or a bald shave! She did absolutely that and more! She kept a conversation going through out the whole hair -cutting process which I appreciate and even gave some legit great life advice. If you like a haircut to be 30-35minutes, a good environment with amazing service. Then this place is definitely for you! 5 STARS!
I've been a regular since 2014, I get a cuts one to twice a month. So in 2018 a haircut was $20. Then in 2019 Kings decides charge $25 still ok. Then mid 2020 they jump it to $30, thinking... I guess as clients we can help maintain the business a float. Now at this point the stylist that would take care of me is no longer part of Kings and I have to trust another barber there. So fast forward to the beginning of September 2021 I walk in to get a cut as usual and once the stylist finishes she says its going to be $40. Not including a tip. I asked when did they raise the price she says recently. I'm no one to argue but at this point Kings barber shop is gouging and taking...read full review
