I do not usually review, but I thought this little gem of a Thai Spa could use some Kudos. I live and work and live in the LA area but love to travel to San Diego for recreation. I spent the day body surfing at Imperial beach and shopping around the Coronado area. At my age and after a long day my body was full of aches, especially my feet and legs. I found Luxsa Thai Spa on yelp. Which located above and behind the Subway on the 2nd floor in Coronado Plaza. After taking a few steps from the stairway, the spa is located directly across from the stairway. I opened the door and was greeted by friendly staff. The spa is small and is nicely decorated with an Azure Blue theme. After I checked in and paid my fee, I was given a clip board (like at a doctor’s office) and was asked if I had any medical issue that would consider their attention. After I filled out the form, I was directed to one of rooms, where I was asked to lay down face first on the table. The spa was busy that day so I was fortunate to have the owner Nick provide my massage. In the room they have ceiling bars, so they are able to walk on your back. It was just what I needed, he started on my legs using his leg in crouched position where his knees help rub out my knotted quad muscles. He then proceeded to stand up and use the bars to give a full body massage. It did the trick, first my calves, then quads, then finally my back and shoulders. He finished the massage with his hands and it felt great. BEST MASSAGE EVER! I felt really relaxed and was ready for the following day. If you are in need of a massage and in the Coronado area, I Highly Recommend LUXSA THAT SPA.
