This VFW is nice, the drinks are reasonable and strong (if you llike whiskey like I do). The night I went was Karaoke night - I not signer but with the whiskey I was chose to sing Gladys Knight, Heard it through the grapevine. what fun!! The DJ was a bit unfriendly, asked for one song and he promptly let me know he didn't have everything. (lol) The singers before me were very good. I missed the line dance class - traffic and took a while to find it. The place could use some sprucing up - other than that, I come back through...cause I love Compton.
Down to earth welcoming environment and the bartender "San" is the best!! The facility itself needs some attention but the intended purpose is met. Apparently, Thursday is the "happening" night at this post. And did I mention the bartender "San" is the best!
VFW or Veterans of Foreign Wars. My family had the repast here after my uncle's funeral. An extremely dated hall, consisting of two adjoining rooms with older tables and chairs and a bar. Very dark and lots of photos of veterans on the walls. A bit depressing but it suited our needs, being more then sizable enough for our group of some 80-100 individuals. Its probably a welcome retreat for local veterans though, seeking a place to sit and escape the burdens of life from time to time. They also have a television mounted on the wall.
