This hotel is phenomenal! We had a King villa suite and it was absolutely gorgeous!! The hotel's proximity to Carmel by the sea and Monteray makes it the perfect.location. it is nearby but in the valley so it feels very private. We loved our stay!!
I stayed at Bernardus for two nights while doing hair for a wedding at Carmel Valley Ranch, and I was blown away by the level of service.
As a hairstylist, wedding days are hectic. I was running back and forth and left my room a complete mess—hot tools, brushes, products and supplies everywhere.
When I came back after the wedding, I couldn’t believe it. Housekeeping had carefully wrapped every single one of my hairstyling tools and organized all of my products and supplies into groups so they were easy for me to pack.
Who does that?! It was such a small detail, but so incredibly thoughtful and completely above and beyond.

Our stay at Bernardus was amazing. We went on a mother daughter trip for just two nights. The property is gorgeous. Every single experience we had with the employees was a positive one. All were beyond helpful, friendly, and went above and beyond to make you feel at home and help you with what you needed. Special shout out to Ashley, Natalie, and Miguel who were especially great. I would love to come back
