About Monterey Bay Dog Training-Santa Cruz Training Classes
Monterey Bay Dog Training Club offers good group training at a good price in a good environment. Trainers have tons of experience and share it generously, explaining what, why and how to train your dog. The club has helped turn around very difficult dogs, with puppies learning a lot and looking forward to class. The basic obedience lessons are very helpful for having a dog that can go anywhere and behave. The supportive staff makes the experience great and fun, focusing on the subtle corrections needed for proper behavior. It is a place where both dogs and their people can do amazingly well.
I've been taking my dogs to Monterey Bay Dog Training Club since the 1980's. I started with a very difficult little dog that we had taken to another trainer recommended by our vet (I won't name names, but she is still a local trainer, who was absolutely no help. She embarrassed my husband by using him as a bad example to the entire class.) Luane of MBDTC helped us turn our little guy around. My daughter and I took her Corgi to another trainer, also recommended by a vet, who was also pretty useless, but when we switched back to MBDTC, the corgi did amazingly well, again with Luanne. I'm now taking my puppy to MBDTC, with Dorothy as our trainer, now that Luanne has retired, and it's been a great experience for both of us. My puppy looks forward to class, and LOVES Dorothy. My puppy has learned a lot, and although I won't be showing her, the basic obedience lessons are very helpful to having a dog that can go anywhere and be counted on to behave and get along with other dogs.
This was the first time I used Monterey Bay Dog Training Club. The 2 classes that I have taken, along with my cockapoo, Jolene, has been taught by Luane and several support staff. Luane and staff and great. Luane clearly has tons of experience and she shares it generously. She explains what, why and how to train your dog. It's pretty clear that dog training is really people training. If I haven't figured out how to get my dog to accomplish a task properly, Luane knows all the subtle corrections to use to end up with the behavior that's required. Plus it's fun!
I started my new puppy at training classes here. The classes were great and at a great price. We took multiple sessions and my dog loved coming to class each day. This was the perfect start to getting my dog to become a well behaved member of the community. Thank you Luane, you are an awesome instructor.
