I discovered rats in the attic of my new home and reached out to this company for assistance. They charged me $5000 to install new insulation and rat-proof my entire house, assuring me that they provided a one-year warranty in case the rats returned. However, a few weeks later, the rats reappeared. The company fulfilled their promise and addressed some missed areas. Unfortunately, this became a recurring problem. Currently, they are not responsive to my calls, leaving me frustrated and out of $5000, with the same rat issue as before. I refrained from writing this review until they started ignoring and evading my attempts to contact them. Despite maintaining a polite attitude, their unresponsiveness and avoidance indicate poor business practices. I hired them for a service that they appear incapable of delivering, necessitating the need to hire another professional and incur additional expenses.
I have a small 734sf house and moved in last May; I hired Ecorattic to rodent-proof so I could put in AC. There was some evidence of rodent activity in the kitchen. I paid $5100 for removal of insulation and rodent-proofing. Later, the guys who did the insulation in the same attic ($2100) were surprised (i.e. they laughed) to hear that it was $5100 to remove insulation, clean the crawl space and put the screens on. So Ecorattic def got the job done (no activity since then), and were very nice. But it was very expensive.
We highly recommend Ecorattic Insulation! The whole process was so incredible to watch happen. David came and gave us a quote, took a few pics in our attic so we could see what we were dealing with, and set up an appointment for a crew to come. The crew was so kind, accommodating and amazing with how efficient and thorough they were. They made a plastic barrier/tunnel from the entry point of the attic to the exit of our home and removed ALL the rat droppings, dead rats, old insulation and completely cleared out our attic. They sealed all interior and exterior openings, then disinfected the entire attic and set 10 rat traps to make sure they got them all. They also pulled out all our appliances in the kitchen, cleaned behind and set a few traps there also. They came back a little over a week later and checked all the traps and only found one dead/trapped rat that must have hidden really well when they came the first time. They installed new insulation for us and also replaced all of our air ducts which were over 40 years old, and were falling apart. We feel like we have a completely new attic!! Honestly, the price seemed high at first, BUT after we saw what they did, they gave us a really fair and reasonable price. We paid additional for the new insulation and new air ducts which were not included in the original quote, BUT once again, it really was an investment that will last for many many years to come and more than that, the peace of mind that our attic is clean and rodent free is worth the cost and more. This will also help the resale of our home when we move again. Also, our AC unit is working better than ever, it's amazing how much air was getting lost from our old air ducts. This company specialized in what they do and are EXCELLENT at it. The crew was very skilled and did a super job!! Don't hesitate--call them today, you will not regret it.
