This is a hidden gem and I would hate to gatekeep it because of how cheap it is. This nursery carries all sorts of plants and herbs. Definitely make the trip from the Bay out very worth it.
Pros:
- cheap $2 small pot of (peppers, eggplant, tomatoes, cilantro, sage, etc)
- friendly keeper (he minds his own business and let my fiancé and I wander his nursery without following us)
- different varieties of plants, even rare ones. I got a Myrtle tree for fraction of a big store cost.

Just want to say thank you to the kind gentleman who helped me with my veggie plant purchases on march 1. This employee was so kind and informative. My first time at asahi and I’ll definitely be back for more plant purchases.
Asahi Nursery the best around. Family run and the prices can't be beat. Veggies 4" $2 and flowers 4" $1 six packs are $2. You have to go check it out. Box stores charge $7 for the same. Food is expensive so grow your own ! What I really like is he has such a huge variety of food, flowers and trees. When you go to the box stores, they have tomatoes, peppers and zucchini. He has entire greenhouses full of the good stuff. One was full of your leafy greens like spinach, kale collard greens, arugula and more, and also tons of herbs. Not just basil and thyme. He has oregano, dill, cilantro thyme, basil and more. You can grow your own salad bar and make your own dressing. I bought 3, 6packs spent $6 and I have some fresh green for my salad every day. Another green house with what I call vine veggies, like several types of cucumber Japanese, Armenian, lemon, canning and more, and squash like acorn, zucchini, crookneck, beans (vine and Bush different colors), melons several varieties. So you get your side dish and dessert. Then another full of your store veggies like eggplant (few different kinds), Okra, Tomatillo, many varieties of tomatoes with many colors,heirloom and canning type. Small pop in your mouth when you're sitting in your yard or slice it in a sandwich size. More peppers than I can name bells in several colors, Jalapeños, Ancho, yellow wax, serrano you get what I'm saying. He's great at explaining how to plant and we even shared recipes. I ran across this place because a guy in a truck in front of me at a gas station had tons of veggies and I could tell it was not Box store veggies. He told me where to go and I have to share it with you ! It is a great place and I truly hope you give them a try you will not be disappointed!
