I’ve been to Esalen three times and each experience has been wonderful! I was there just recently in June 2026. The facilities have been upgraded and the teachers are phenomenal. I love it there!!
I’ve been coming here off and on for 20-25 years and I preferred it better when prices were more affordable for everyone which invited more socioeconomic diversity. More affordable pricing meant more basic amenities and that was a trade off I was ok with. When the business model changed to increase rates after modernizing, remodeling, it out priced many and attracted a younger, yuppie and affluent population from the techie dot com bubble. The place itself is still very special and beautiful. Food not of the same caliber as in years past. The familiar faces are gone due to more staff turnover. Such a beautiful property with even better vibes! I came here with no expectations and I'm blown away by the space, service, and thoughtfulness of it all.
