Hoover Ranch is a family-owned farm on Bethel Island located in the heart of the California Delta that delivers DELICIOUS eggs direct to the consumer! Check them out on Youtube: Their ISA Warren Brown Hens are free range and run around in the pasture all day long. The farmers collect the eggs daily by hand, then wash them on site, and deliver them within 1 day to customers. They sell the eggs in flats of 30, which may seem like a lot, however they stay fresh in the fridge all month long. For those who'd like to know, it's only $0.43 per egg -- a great value versus retail at $0.79 per egg. They either invoice customers via Square or customer pay cash on site. Bonus Points: + 100% Certified Organic by CCOF + Certified Humane by HFAC + Local + Low in saturated fat + High in omega + Pasture raised I've been a customer for 1 year and I've found that the taste of these eggs is unmatched! (I actually used to feel ill after consuming store bought eggs and thought that I had an allergy until I found these eggs, thanks to a Nextdoor post : ) The egg yolks are big and bright orange or yellow, and the eggs taste light and fluffy. They're so fresh that it takes a bit longer to hard boil them, yet they're not heavy at all. A big plus is that the farmers can be found selling them twice a month in the parking lots at local schools (for example at Lafayette Elementary) -- part of the sales go to the schools' parents club funds -- which directly go to the students and teachers. That's because one of the brothers, Brent, used to be a teacher before he left to work on the family ranch. During harvest season, they also sell corn stalks and pumpkins. If you decide to check them out, tell Brent that Yelper, Diana V. sent you! *Note: They sell tasty pullet eggs in the springtime *Note: Home delivery is available in Oakley, Brentwood, and Discovery Bay
