Searching for a place to get eyebrows threaded in Little India, and saw this place from the street. I went in and asked if they can do eyebrows. An older lady who I later learned was the shops co-owner asked me to have a seat in a chair. They have two chairs for threading right when you come in. There was someone else also getting their eyebrows threaded by a younger lady. I had not maintained my eyebrows and I wasn't offended when the woman assisting me asked if I wanted to do my lip and chin. In the interest of saving money, I did full face for $35. We talked about skincare and she was very knowledgeable because she used to teach courses to become an esthetician in her home country. I needed a facial too and decided to just give her a chance. I got a mini-facial for $40. I purchased a bottle of rose water for $10. Customer service was pleasant and efficient. The mini-facial was good for being 30mins and a quick skin refresh. I'm used to 60min european facials with steam and all that so please note that this was not that! The facial was soothing, my skin felt cleaner, the face massage was heavenly, and the only thing I would say is that after the collagen mask, there was no application of moisturizer or sunscreen-- which was something she had been telling me that was very important for my skincare routine. I think it got a little busy in the store and perhaps there was some anxiety about that which made her rush the end. However, it was a solid mini-facial otherwise and if my skin was again as dull as it was when I went in today, I would definitely be happy to pay $40 to get the treatment. With respect to the threading, I might agree with other yelpers that it wasnt as painless as it could be but at the same time, she did clean the area and leave to wash her hands before starting the process with me. Perhaps they have taken to heart the suggestions and criticisms of other customers? I would go back and try the other threader but see the co-owner for skincare and haircare as she was very experienced and knowledgeable.
I so rarely write negative reviews unless I feel it's warranted. I regret ever considering coming here or setting foot in this place. I was visiting family in the area as I am from the Bay Area and my usual SoCal place was closed so I walked down the street to try this place out. I have had my face threaded numerous times by different people and have never woken up the next day with so much redness and acne. Additionally, I've never seen such a stark lack of regard for proper hygiene and professionalism in a threading place. To start, one younger woman started me off and then another woman with glasses took over and started threading my face so aggressively, I genuinely wondered if I was bleeding at one point. They hyperfixated on my right eyebrow and I had to eventually tell them that they are thinning it out and my brows will not look symmetrical if they continue. I have never felt the need to tell someone threading me to literally stop up until yesterday. It does not take two people to thread someone's face and it definitely does not take an hour to do it either. I strongly believe that proper sanitation isn't being followed at this place. They trimmed my brows at the end with a pair of scissors that were laying on the table in front of me. Neither of these women washed their hands prior or were wearing gloves. The aggressive threader kept going back and forth between threading my eyebrows and then helping another customer so she was handling merchandise, touching a cash register, and money and then transferring all that to my skin. Please avoid this place at all costs. I genuinely regret coming here as my skin is so inflamed and broken out because of them. I'm so upset about my eyebrows and my poor skin.
WORST PLACE EVER. I had my my eyebrows threading done today. Such poor place, and greedy people. They just want to make money, don’t really care about their job. I DON’T RECOMMEND THIS AT ALL.
