About Jansen Music
Jansen Music is an old school music shop and local business in Aptos. The owner is very knowledgeable and dedicated, knowing his stuff. The store offers a great selection of books and musical instruments, which is huge and awesome. It is a great place for guitar lessons and repairs a variety of instruments. The customer service is excellent, going above and beyond. The staff is customer oriented, not sales oriented, and if they do not have what you need, they will order it. Prices are good and parking is decent. The store is located at the opposite end of the shopping center from Safeway. There is no need to go anywhere else in Santa Cruz County for music needs.
Jody has sold to me / for me many instruments over the past 10+ years. He is always welcoming and honest, and takes pride in his work. I have witnessed him repair and set up everything from accordions to high end guitars. He is a Yamaha retailer for guitars and keyboards as well as Ibanez electrics. Need strings, he has them. Need repair, he does it. Need a new toy? If it isn’t in stock, he will get it for you.

Jansen music since I was in high school. Jodie is a very dedicated music lover and it'd a local business. I'm glad it's in aptos now. Please support this small local business. He knows his stuff and if he doesn't have what you need, he'll probably get it. I mean, you technically could shop at Amazon. But China makes crap. Local small businesses are the backbone of the economy.
I bought a used ukulele and needed strings and accessories. The gentleman knew exactly what I needed and the prices were good. I got the feeling they are customer oriented, not sales oriented.
